We run ski instructor internship programmes in two of Canada’s top winter destinations – SilverStar Mountain Resort and Mt Washington Alpine Resort (both in the beautiful western province of British Columbia). These first rate ski instructor internships will set you up with the skills, qualifications and employment opportunities you need to enter the snowsports industry.
Whether you’re a passionate skier planning a winter season or looking to get serious about a career on the slopes, a ski instructor internship in Canada is your perfect stepping stone.
Following your ski instructor internship in Canada, you’ll gain an international instructor qualification from the Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance (CSIA). CSIA is governed by the International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA), which sets the minimum standard requirements for ski instructors internationally.
Training through CSIA means you’ll have the freedom to work as a ski instructor in a range of prime winter destinations around the world. Choose between the following ski instructor internship programmes in Canada: CSIA Level 1, CSIA Level 2 and CSIA National Accredited Modules (Teaching Children, Snow Park Intro, Terrain Selection).
Our training in Niseko was run by Propeak, one of the most established ski schools in the area. Our trainer, Campbell, had around 18 seasons worth of experience so its some of the best coaching I’ve ever received. My skiing technique was dissected, critiqued and then built back up, so I’m skiing better than ever. The course sets you up for success and its great fun both on and off the slopes.
WE ARE SNO took care of everything. It felt so good to be in the experienced hands of people who know the resorts, the town, snowboarding and skiing. Delivered from the airport to our place of stay and with personal resort transport to get to and from the mountains each day was awesome. The training was progressive and once qualified we were able to transition seamlessly into employment as instructors.
WE ARE SNO simply made everything easy. From the organisation prior to the course to the communication leading up to departure. We met our program manager at the airport and it didn’t take long to settle into resort life. We were fully prepared for the exams with excellent guidance from our trainers. The experience continues to be extraordinary with the help of ongoing support from the team at We Are Sno.
The whole experience was amazing. We all worked hard for the qualification, but we had plenty of time to chill. The accommodation was everything we needed with comfy beds, and only a short walk from the slopes and bars. The quality of the training definitely gave us the upper hand compared to similar programs and the 100% pass rate is proof. I could not recommend this more to anyone thinking about working a ski season abroad.
After completing your CSIA Level 1 ski instructors’ exam, you’ll automatically transition into paid employment in the same ski school you trained with. Senior members of the snowsports school and your WE ARE SNO programme manager will help you settle into your new role and become a valuable member of the team.
Both Canadian resorts we work with have large and busy schools – their standard of work is high and wages are competitive. Plus, ski internship employment usually runs until the end of the winter season, meaning you get to stay in Canada for longer and make the most of your time on the mountains.
