Whether you’re looking to develop the necessary skills to become a professional ski instructor, or simply just to enjoy an extended winter season, we have the course for you.
Based out of the world famous resort town of Queenstown, you will live in the heart of New Zealand’s Southern Alps. You will spend your days training on two great local mountains – Coronet Peak and The Remarkables.
You’ll learn from and work alongside some of the world’s best instructors, while gaining internationally-recognised qualifications and real-time employment opportunities.
Your ski instructor internship in Queenstown gets you an international instructor qualification from the New Zealand Snowsports Instructor’s Alliance (NZSIA). The NZSIA is governed by the International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA) which sets the minimum standard requirements for ski instructors internationally. Complete your NZSIA qualification in Queenstown and go on to legally work as a ski instructor in a whole host of epic winter destinations around the world.
Our training in Niseko was run by Propeak, one of the most established ski schools in the area. Our trainer, Campbell, had around 18 seasons worth of experience so its some of the best coaching I’ve ever received. My skiing technique was dissected, critiqued and then built back up, so I’m skiing better than ever. The course sets you up for success and its great fun both on and off the slopes.
WE ARE SNO simply made everything easy. From the organisation prior to the course to the communication leading up to departure. We met our program manager at the airport and it didn’t take long to settle into resort life. We were fully prepared for the exams with excellent guidance from our trainers. The experience continues to be extraordinary with the help of ongoing support from the team at We Are Sno.
The whole experience was amazing. We all worked hard for the qualification, but we had plenty of time to chill. The accommodation was everything we needed with comfy beds, and only a short walk from the slopes and bars. The quality of the training definitely gave us the upper hand compared to similar programs and the 100% pass rate is proof. I could not recommend this more to anyone thinking about working a ski season abroad.
Successful completion of your level 1 and 2 instructor qualifications will give you the necessary skills to transition into paid work as a ski instructor.
The employment element of the internship will take place over 2-3 weeks of the NZ school holidays. A senior member of the snowsports school will help you settle into your new role and become a valued member of the team while you make the most of the remainder of the season in this stunning alpine location.
